Covid 19 brought the entire world to a standstill with many being cut off from friends and family and health care workers pushed to the edge. Never was there a time when we needed to fund and thank those saving lives on a day to day basis. Unfortunately, people of colour have been disproportionately affected, however no one was prepared for what happened next; mass public outcry action that spanned continents regarding institutional racism and the degradation and oppression of people of colour.
At a time where there is so much political and social unrest what brings humanity together is initiatives set up to support and help those who are the most marginalised and alienated in our society. The African Diaspora Busines Support Fund pledges to do just that, focusing on supporting BME entrepreneurs within the United Kingdom. There core message is to ensure social justice, and adequate opportunities specifically for Afro-Caribbean people, to create and support the UK’s formation of a tangible and robust network for black people in business. The charity has just opened its first round of funding, so if you’re looking for a great way to change the world donate now.
